Dark Orange

Dark Orange

Genre: Neo-Folk
Origin: Germany
Status: Disbanded

Dark Orange was an early heavenly voices group that is actually a bit difficult to classify. Some of their songs are reminiscent of Clan of Xymox tunes from the same era, while others are slow, elegant tunes with Katrin's sultry singing accompanied only by Malte on the piano. Still others are atmospheric and ethereal near-instrumentals.

After 15 years apart, Katrin and Dirk announced in 2008 that they are again collaborating, hinting at the possibility of some reunion shows. We'll see where that leads.

Dark Orange was best known for their cover of Paul Simon's "Sounds Of Silence." Other Darktronica favorites are "Beloved Brother" and "The Man With The Never-Ending Smile."
