A bright candle that flickered out quickly, Namnambulu burst onto the futurepop club scene in 2002 with a succession of hits like "Memories" and "Alone," but the project disbanded only a few years later in June 2005, due to personal differences between Henrik and Vasi.
Discovered by Ronan Harris of VNV Nation, Namnambulu nails the futurepop sound to a T, pumping out heart-pounding club anthems accented by Henrik's powerful and unique vocals. There's little innovation here musically, but the guys from Switzerland produced some of the catchiest and most quintessentially futurepop tunes around. After breaking up, Henrik has gone on as a solo artist recording under the name Sonic Decoy. Vasi has released an EBM/industrial project called Reaper, toured as a live keyboardist for VNV Nation, and created a new duo with Felix Marc called Frozen Plasma.
Darktronica favorites are "Memories," "Surviving," and "Faces."
