Bruderschaft

Genre: Futurepop
Origin: New York, USA
Status: Active
Bruderschaft is an electro supergroup founded in the aftermath of the death of DJ Rexx Arkana's father by cancer. Arkana wrote the song "Forever" to commemorate his passing and rallied the darktronica community around the cause of cancer research to put together the release. Members of Covenant, Apoptygma Berzerk, VNV Nation, and Icon of Coil contributed to the original version of the song, with countless other bands contributing remixes; proceeds from the Forever release went to charities promoting cancer research and treatment.
The song itself is touching and well-executed, and the remixes really show a diverse range of talents.
A second release, "Return," has been in the works for several years now, with a preview available on the collective's Myspace profile. Tom Shear of Assemblage 23 provided vocals, with Johann Sebastian of State of the Union composing much of the music. No word yet on a release date for this song or any associated remixes, however.
