While the Dallas industrial rock duo has toured with Marilyn Manson, Ministry, and Genitorturers, Nocturne is now best known for the antics of its frontwoman, Lacey Conner, on the VH1 reality show Rock Of Love, with Bret Michaels. Lacey was one of the final three ladies in the competition for Bret's affections, but despite her notoriety as the cattiest member of the household and the obvious stage it provided, she never mentioned Nocturne by name because the band was taking an indefinite break at the time.
All the attention, however, seems to have brought the band out of retirement, as Nocturne recently announced a few shows near the end of the year (see Nocturne's Myspace profile linked below for details). It remains to be seen whether any new material will come out of the newfound fame.
Vocally, Lacey is in the same school of singing as Gen from Genitorturers and Kimberly Goss from Sinergy, able to sing and shout in equal parts. Musically, the band doesn't fall far from most of their tourmates. Favorites are "The Embrace" and "Sub-Mission."
